Welcome!

Hi there!  Welcome to Project 365 Central, a jumping-off point for what I hope will become a whole bunch of Project 365 junkies.

The purpose of this particular blog is simple: this is a central location which will host links to a variety of Project 365 sites.  If you're interested in joining us, here are some simple instructions:

1. Start a blog.  It doesn't have to be fancy, and it doesn't actually have to be a blog.  Some people use Flikr.  Whatever works for you.  But find a place to post all your pictures.

2. Choose a day to begin your project.  It should be a date that will help you when keeping track of a year.  January 1 is a popular choice, but some people start with their birthday, or the first day of school, or another event.  It's up to you!

3. Take pictures.  Lots and lots of pictures.  Every. single. day.  The more you take, the better your chances of forming a habit.  And the more you'll have to choose from each day.  (And the more you'll tick off anyone else who uses the camera and/or computer, but sacrifices must be made in the name of art, right?)  Of course, you could limit yourself to taking just one picture each day, but I'm in the lots and lots of pictures camp.  Some people also prefer to follow a theme, such as more arty pictures, or pictures of their children, or common household objects, or whatever, but what you take pictures of is entirely up to you.

4. Choose one picture for each day and post it.  You don't have to post it that day, but make sure you label it with the date and the day (as in, Day 1, Day 2, etc.)  I tend to do a week's worth at a time.  Placing each picture in its own post makes it easier to go back and find them later.

5. Have fun!

If you want to have your blog linked in the sidebar so anyone who is interested can see your pictures, send me an email (see the "Contact" page at the top) with your blog address included and I'll see that it gets added.

Below is a button.  Adding it to your blog will give you a quick and easy link back to this site.  If you'd like to add it, copy the html and paste it into you sidebar (on Blogger, go into "Design", then click on "Add a Gadget".  Choose "HTML/JavaScript" and paste the text into the window.  Click "Save" and it should appear in the sidebar on your blog.  If you don't use Blogger, I'm afraid you're on your own.)

Have fun, and happy picture taking!
